Improving guitar skills.

Whilst talking to people recently about being a classical guitarist it became clear that a fair percentage had never realised that I offer private lessons/tuition to students, so I thought I would take this opportunity to let more people know exactly what I do.

I have been teaching classical guitar in Manchester for quite a while now, with lessons for 7 year olds upwards. Beginners, intermediate or advanced players are all welcome, and I also have a lot of experience in preparing students for music college entry.

As well as teaching for educational establishments like Chetham’s School of Music and King’s School in Macclesfield I also offer private tuition from my home music studio in Manchester. All of my lessons are taught in a relaxed and unpretentious style, which seems to be appreciated by my students! I think it is really important that lessons are enjoyed whilst gaining a sense of achievement and development from them.

Some of my students just want to improve their guitar playing, whilst others want to take their playing further. For example many of my students have gone on to play with The National Youth Guitar Ensemble (NYGE), and quite a number have chosen to study music at a higher level.
